Why are raw almonds so much more expensive than other nuts, cashews, peanuts,,etc? - why are raw nuts more expensive

Is it because it was promoted as healthy? .. I think it smells of price fixing. I've seen as high as $ 10.98 per pound ... more than twice as high as other nuts ... Nuts are nuts second most expensive, then what happens?
